Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Teacher and Child Development Specialist, the Associate Teacher assist the Teacher and cooperates in a supportive role carrying out developmentally appropriate activities. Promotes health, nutrition, and education of the children and to attend to their safety and welfare.

Requirements

Assoc. Tchr. I: A minimum of twelve (12) units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; and some paid or volunteer experience in working with young children (2-8 years old) in a Head Start or preschool program.

 

Assoc. Tchr. II: At least 40 college units, twelve (12) units of which are in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, and at least six (6) units in Administration/Supervision; must qualify for a Child Development Associate or Teacher Permit (see Permit Requirements attached); and some paid or volunteer experience in working with young children (2-8 years old) in a Head Start or preschool program.

Job Summary

Responsible to promote family wellness and parent involvement programs and to support the implementation of the family partnership process. Operates as a liaison between classroom and home settings in the area of education, child development and mental health.

Requirements

FSA I:    High School Diploma or GED equivalent; applied coursework in child development or 

social work desirable.  Minimum one (1) year documented paid or voluntary experience                 working with low-income groups is required; experience in a preschool environment is preferred. Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. 

 

FSA II:   Associate in Arts degree from an accredited college or university; applied coursework in child development or social work preferable.  Any combination of education, training and       experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. 

 

FSA I & II:  Ability to work with an ethnically and linguistically diverse population;

Awareness and  sensitivity to individual differences and cultures; Good interpersonal skills to       communicate in an effective manner; Good oral and written communication skills;                      Good record-keeping skills; and Ability to maintain positive work environment and                      relationships.

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Technical Support Administrator, the Senior Clerk Typist is a staff person who performs varied and increasingly complex and responsible administrative and clerical tasks.  General responsibilities and duties include, children and family files data entry; assists in establishing and updating filing and record-keeping systems, composes drafts of routine correspondence, memoranda and reports for review by superviso, creates appropriate formats, types and proof-reads letters, memoranda, flyers, voucher receipts, schedules, proposals, applications, notices and statistical data, checks and processes a variety of dicuments, alphabetizes, indexes and proofs cards and records, maintains files and records; operates a variety of office machines; may answer telephones to give information and assistance; assists in maintaining office equipment to assure proper running condition; attends all mandated meeting and training sessions; and performs other duties assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Fiscal Officer, the Senior Accountant serves as assistant to the Fiscal Officer in the implementation of adequate fiscal control within the delegate agency.  Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:  assists with the design and improvement of fiscal management information systems and reporting procedures; assists in the preparation of annual financial plans and budgets; prepares periodic financial reports; verifies that transactions are properly supported, classified and recorded accordingly; assists in analyzing effects of transactions upon account relationships; maintains, posts, reconciles and files cash receipts, disbursement ledger, payroll journals, general ledger, general journals, bank reconciliation and monthly financial files; assists in the handling of payroll; and attends meetings and training workshops.

 

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor of Arts/Science degree from an accredited college or university major in Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Management or related field with emphasis on accounting

 

Experience:

Five (5) years experience in fund accounting principles and systems such as Head Start, State Preschool or similar federal or state funded programs combined with a minimum of three (3) years experience in computerized accounting systems.  Additional years of experience may be substituted for required education on a year-to-year basis.

 

Skills:

Special skills and abilities include knowledge of principles of government accounting manuals and familiarity with audit and reporting requirements for federal and state grants; advanced hands-on knowledge and skills in the use of Microsoft Excel applications and other accounting software programs; ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form; ability to exercise independent judgment with moderate supervision; and effective inter-communication skills with staff, management, vendors, auditors and government representatives.

Job Summary

Provide a successful, safe and supervised educational setting for children while they are in the Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area, and field trips). Promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of Head Start/Early Head Start children. Encourage parent involvement in all aspects of the program. To develop individual goals for children, provide on-going assessment on progress and facilitate transition into kindergarten.

Requirements

TCHR. I :  Associates Degree with a major in Child Development or related field from an accredited college with a minimum of twenty-four (24) units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.  Additionally, the position requires a valid Child Development Teacher Permit (see Permit Requirements attached), plus sixteen (16) G.E. units.; And two (2) years experience working with young children (2-8 years old in a Head Start or preschool program).

 

TCHR. Job Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director and with the advice of special committiees incumbent will be responsible for directing the Agency's Human Resources functions, including but not limited to Labor Relations and Union negotiation, Recruitment and Employment Services, Payroll, Benefits Administration, Workforce Development and Training. , Employee Relations, Workers' Compensation and Safety, and Records Management.  Will develop recommend and implement strategic initiatives in accordance with the goals, objectives and mission of the Agency, the Agency's Policies and Regulations, and ensure efficient and effective personnel operation in complience with all contractual terms, conditions, and obligations.  Will develop and maintain internal and external relationships.  Will develop and implement Policies and Procedures consistent with Federal, State, and Local rules and regulations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Human Resource, Organizational Management, Business Management or related field required.  Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in human resources management.  Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience within a large company of no less than 200 employees.  Must have knowledge of human resources practices and theories, including Federal, State and local laws.  Must have a valid California driver's license, access to automobile with adequete insurance coverage as required by law.Final candidates will be subject to fingerprint, state and FBI clearance, and child abuse index check prior to starting work.
