Salary Range

Assoc. Teacher I ($1,971 to $2,837) (Salary Range 1-15/Edition No. 8) with BENEFITS

Assoc. Teacher II ($2,145 to $3,088) (Salary Range 1-15/Edition No. 8) with BENEFITS

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Teacher and Child Development Specialist, the Associate Teacher assist the Teacher and cooperates in a supportive role carrying out developmentally appropriate activities. Promotes health, nutrition, and education of the children and to attend to their safety and welfare.

Requirements

Assoc. Tchr. I: A minimum of twelve (12) units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development; and some paid or volunteer experience in working with young children (2-8 years old) in a Head Start or preschool program.


Assoc. Tchr. II: At least 40 college units, twelve (12) units of which are in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, and at least six (6) units in Administration/Supervision; must qualify for a Child Development Associate or Teacher Permit (see Permit Requirements attached); and some paid or volunteer experience in working with young children (2-8 years old) in a Head Start or preschool program.

Assigned Location

Assigned to site locations within the organizations service area in Los Angeles County.
